Hello. School is going to start in approximately 1.5 month's time and almost everyone I talk to do not know what my course is about. So, refer to the below excerpt from NTU's Linguistics & Multilingual Studies' FAQ site:

What is the Division of Linguistics and Multilingual Studies about?

As the name "Linguistics and Multilingual Studies" suggests, the programme is designed with a focus on the study of the languages of multilingual individuals and of multilingual societies. In addition to English, this programme will also focus on the study of language issues in countries that are of special relevance to Singapore such as China, India, Indonesia and Vietnam, amongst others.

I love languages and I think I'll really enjoy learning about the science of language. But for some reason, I do not look forward to the start of school. I think it's mainly because of the impending tonne of workload that comes along with the enjoyment of learning something new.

Sigh. Make that one trillion tonnes of work instead.

I think on the day where I pack my stuff to move into the hostel with Valerie, I'd be excited. But then after that, no. Lol.

I dunno why but I've been having these spells of dizziness the whole afternoon and still have it now. It feels like, hmm, how to put it. I don't feel sick or anything. I have just completed Phase Two of Operation Clean Up! (There wasn't one before, but now there is.)

Because I realised that I needed a space for my new Macbook Pro and the space that I wanted to put it on was occupied by other stuff, which I had to clear away before I could use. Thus leading me to free up any other areas containing useless things so that I could put my stuff there. Okay, do you get it? If you do great! If you don't then nevermind, noob.

YAY. Now I can use that empty space for my Macbook Pro and my table is damn clean now too.

Today was "all-cousins" day. Lol.

First, I went out with Alex and Jabez for lunch at Marina Square. After which, we proceeded to jalan around and Jabez bought posters for Daphne and his mates back home. (He's going back to the US for two weeks of holiday.)

Then we went home and I had an extended family dinner to celebrate my grand aunt's birthday! Ahh, sweet reunion.

So both meetings were great!

Furthermore, Kai and I were exchanging apps. LOL. Damn a lot of loop holes ah. Gonna drop by both Jabez's place (when he gets back) and Kai's place (next week) to do stuff.

I was just reading some of the emails that my parents (dad and mom) send to us (my bro, sis and I). Sometimes the emails contain important health information/updates, good-to-know pieces of news and just-for-fun notes.

Some of the emails are really inspirational.

Sometimes we're too caught up in life and miss out on the things that matter most. The email contained an analogy:

A group of graduates, well established in their careers, were discussing their lives at a class reunion. They decided to go visit their old university professor, now retired, who was always an inspiration to them.  

During their visit, the conversation turned to complaints about stress in their work, lives and relationships.  

Offering his guests hot chocolate, the professor went into the kitchen and returned with a large pot of hot chocolate and an assortment of cups. Some cups were porcelain, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, and some exquisite. He invited each to help themselves to the hot chocolate.

  When they all had a cup of hot chocolate in hand, the professor shared his thoughts.

  “Notice that all the nice looking, expensive cups were taken, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones.”  

“While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress.”  

“The cup that you are drinking from adds nothing to the quality of the hot chocolate. In most cases it is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink.”  

“What each of you really wanted was hot chocolate. You did not want the cup… but you consciously went for the best cups.”

It's pretty awesome, but you need to know how to use a Chinese dictionary first because the style for looking up words is the same. And you also need to know how to read hiragana and katakana if you want to know how to pronounce the words after you've looked them up. Lol.

It's really hard to study Japanese, especially memorising the kanji (chinese characters). It's pure memory work and thankfully, Chinese is good for something. Because even though the pronunciation of the word is different, the meanings are almost the same. Lol.

So I'm sure all of you have been wondering why there has been a lack of updates regarding the KPOP scene. Well, I'm glad to announce that I've finally decided to move on.

I've been trying to look for a way to get the geisha look. The main problem is the white make-up base. I think I'm going to continue looking for more alternatives tmr. Lol. Been trying using powder, sunscreen, etc. Quite fun to experiment! If you have any tips or suggestions that work, please inform me!

The make-up base is supposed to be opaque and thin. Not flaky, not cakey and it should have a smooth finish with no streaks from where the brush used ends or etc.

It looks absolutely divine. Anyway, the specs are awesome and the fuel consumption is imba. My parents tried it out when they were in Japan and petrol consumption was like almost nothing! Frikkin' fuel efficient.

Hello everyone! No, I'm not dead. (Unfortunately for those of you hoping that I am. MUAHAHA.)

Since I've decided to stay here and attend NTU, I've had quite a lot of time on my hands. And no, I do not intend to work. I'll be working my ass of the rest of my life once I complete university education. Why the heck would I want to work now. And don't give me all that nonsense about me being rich and what not.

If I don't go out = stay at home = don't need to spend = save money = no need to work. DUH. Besides, I do go out, with my parents. *smug*

So, the last two days have been spent reading this manga. I'm currently in the romance mode. Don't think I'd recommend this to guys. But if you're female. IT'S FRIGGIN' NICE. The anime's nice too. But only five episodes are subbed and out. ... Wtheck, I hate waiting. ...

And also, been watching this anime. Hakuouki. I think this anime was derived from a game. And they're releasing one version for the PSP soon. OMG. I WANT IT. I think I like Otome games even though I haven't actually tried playing one yet. HAHAHA.

Anyway. as indicated in the picture below. The background setup of the story is in olden day Japan. When it was struggling to open up trade with the rest of the world. It deals with Shinsengumis (secret police or smthg). Reminds me of Samurai 7, except with lots of Bishounens (pretty boys). Don't think guys would watch this, except for the awesome fight scenes. And unless you're like my brother, who is into romance stuff like me. (He's a closet romantic.) Besides, the artwork is awesome la! LOOK.

And now, I have to wait for episode six of both animes to come out. Wtheck. ...

Did I mention I hate waiting?

Now I have to look for some other means to occupy my time. I tried doing that earlier, I was cleaning up my room. I've got too much stuff. And I haven't even packed my Christmas and Birthday presents away yet. LOL. Crap.

I had a really colourful day today.

First, there was the Mediabiz Awards.

Then on the bus on the way home, NTU called me to inform me of an interview for the linguistics course next Tuesday.

The next epic thing that happened, was that I was walking home along the "long kang" way. So while I was walking, I slipped on a layer of disgusting sludge and fell down. Not only was my entire butt wet, my iTouch also took the brunt of the fall. Resulting in its current state as shown in the following photos:

P.S: Does anyone have any repair shops to recommend? I want to get repaired ASAP. Like, NOW.

EDIT: Btw, just to make things a little bit clearer, my iTouch still works normally and functions properly. It's just the glass screen (not the LCD) that has cracked. SIAN. See! It still lights up.

The good news is, they're coming to SG.

Best factual TV series ever. Each episode follows the Bondi Beach Lifeguard team conducting various rescues along the shores of said beach and handling other mishaps that happen, such as thieves, drug dealers, and even a bomb, etc. Very interesting!

P.S: Poh Hoon, you sure love it one. Got a lot of hot guys in it. LOL.
